Hong Kong – Connecting China to the World, Finance and Infrastructure Trek

In association with InvestHK, Wharton alumni are invited to join a full-day, hands-on session on Hong Kong’s role in connecting China to the world, with key focus on big infrastructure and financial integration. The trek would spend a half day visiting MTR Corporation and Hong Kong Airport to appreciate the global expertise built by Hong Kong’s sophisticated public private ecosystem to deliver some of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and overseas. The second half of the trek would focus on better understanding recent integration of Chinese and Hong Kong Financial system via a visit to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd (HKEX) to understand “Shenzhen-Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect”/other HKEx initiatives. This is followed by an introduction to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s Innovation Lab in Hong Kong and meeting the central bankers managing the “Belt and Road” initiative and “Fintech” at Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).
